Adminstrative Assistant
2023 Flower Farmers
We are hiring several farmers to support our cut flower operations in 2022. Seasonal position running from March through Thanksgiving, with full-time, year-round employment opportunities available for the right candidates. This is a fast-paced and physically demanding role, with work hours spent outdoors in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities

Transplanting, harvesting, and weeding cut flowers
-
Assisting with greenhouse seeding and bulb planting
-
Physical tasks like moving crates and laying landscape fabric
-
General farm maintenance, including bucket washing, organization, sweeping, mopping, cleaning out barn/cooler, irrigation repairs, etc.

For interested candidates, potential to help at farmers market and you-pick events
Ideal Candidate
-
1 years of crop farming/market gardening experience preferred but not required
-
Interested in organic/natural farming, botany, horticulture, pest control
-
Ability to lift 60+ pounds repeatedly, squat/bend, and be on hands & knees for extended periods of time
-
Organized and quick to learn new tasks
-
Able to use basic technologies like Google Sheets
-
Able to commit to regular schedule, 20-40 hours/week, until Thanksgiving - we have a very small team and reliability is key

Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper
We are seeking an administrative assistant/bookkeeper for approximately 8-10 hours/week, with potential for more as the farm grows. This is a fully remote contractor/1099 position and you can set your own hours.
Responsibilities include:

Replying to emails and messages from customers

Submitting weekly payroll info to our payroll company
-
Creating templates for commonly asked questions
-
Drafting quotes for weddings and events
-
Communicating with florists and wholesalers regarding orders and availability
-
Paying farm bills and expenses
-
Ordering farm supplies
-
Brief weekly or bi-weekly meetings with owners to discuss tasks
-
Organizing expenses and maintaining books in our accounting system (Xero)
-
Minor website maintenance to ensure it stays accurate
-
Help with on-boarding paperwork for new employees
Ideal Candidate:
-
Background as administrative assistant, bookkeeper, etc.
-
Responsive, creative, competant
-
Familiarity with Quickbooks or Xero, Wix website platform, Google Sheets is a plus
-
Familiarity with farms not necessary
We are offering:
